WebJan 26, 2024 · In my opinion, Smile is the tenser movie while Barbarian is more original. In either case, both are pretty entertaining and significantly above average as horror movies for me. I know that people tend to criticize Smile for its lack of originality, but I could overlook that problem with how well-executed the jump scares were.

Barbarian was more comedic, like borderline black comedy so that depends on your tastes. Great. No true winner!
